Apple released macOS 11 Big Sur on November 12, 2020. As always, to ensure you do not experience an interruption of service, please confirm that your files are backed up, and that your software and hardware are compatible with macOS 11 before upgrading. AnyConnect 4.9.04xxx leverages the System Extension framework available in macOS 11 (Big Sur). This differs from past AnyConnect versions, which rely on the now-deprecated Kernel Extension framework. This is the minimum version required to run AnyConnect on macOS 11.

- Launch the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility client.
- Select UMVPN - All Traffic or UMVPN - Only U-M Traffic from the profile drop-down list.
- Click Connect.
- Authenticate using your uniqname and UMICH password when prompted.
- Authenticate via Duo two-factor authentication.
